Richard is the CISO at American National Insurance Company,and an advisor for several security startups and for City Capital, an investment banking firm. Richard has over 30 years of experience as an operating executive in technology, financial services, Governance, Risk & Compliance. Richard has served as both the CFO and Chief Strategy Officer of C-bridge and the Chief Strategy/Marketing Officer of Excelon, both public companies. He also served as Vice President and Director of Financial Services Strategy within the Industry practice of Oracle Corp. where he managed acquistions and the due dilegence process. Richard was the CEO/President of Security Federal Bank & Trust, where he managed the acquisition of four financial institutions prior to taking the bank public. At Coopers & Lybrand Richard was the National Director for Technology Advisory Services focusing on security, mergers & acquisitions of technology companies and financial institutions. While at Laventhol & Horwath, he was the national practice director for workouts & turnaround due diligence for The Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation (FSLIC) and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In addition Richard led teams performing financial and operational due diligence on acquisitions of companies for clients such as Carl Icahn, The Marmon Group, Sam Zell, Kraft Corporation, and others. Richard is a graduate of St. Meinrad College and the University of Notre Dame, The Goldratt Institute in New Haven CT and over the years Richard has been a certified member of the National Speakers Association, a member of the Association of former Intelligence officers, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Institute of Interal Auditors, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and International Federation of coaches. Richard is current writing his next book, a novel based on the “next big thing” in technology chronologizing the evolution of technology from the perspective of a CEO & CIo over the last 40 years. His first book is entitled “The Uncorrupted Stock Picker” published by North River Press in MA.
